ART HOUSE

Project Completion: 2020
Location: Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, India
Built-up Area: 1300 sq.ft
Principal Architect: Ar. Sri Krishna Rajan
Design Partner: Design Legacy

The client, an artist by profession, envisioned a facade that would merge contemporary architectural language with the rich heritage of Rajasthani art and architecture. Drawing inspiration from this vision, the facade was conceptualized as a canvas, structured using geometric forms, primarily squares and rectangles.

Traditional jaali elements were intricately integrated into both the facade and the skylight, preserving the essence of vernacular architecture while also creating dynamic patterns of light and shadow throughout the day. These crafted perforations not only pay homage to traditional design but also add a poetic rhythm to the built form.

The final expression of the facade evokes the essence of a painted canvas, where modern form meets cultural depth, reflecting the artistic identity of the client and the layered architectural narrative of Rajasthan.
